Ontario Breast Screening Program

If you are a woman 50 years or over, breast screening is recommended every one to two years. Make a commitment to take time for yourself. Make breast screening part of your health routine.

Breast Screening is a regular examination of a woman’s breast to find any hidden problems. Breast screening includes a mammogram and a physical exam of the breasts. Breast screening can find cancer early, and early detection saves lives. As women get older, their chance of getting breast cancer increases. In Ontario, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women.

Women should be screened every two years; some women may be asked in one year instead of two. You will receive a reminder letter when it is time to return. You can make your own appointment or be sent by your doctor. For an appointment please call 705-495-7930.
