The Healthy Living Clinic (HLC) identifies psychiatric patients at increased risk of cardiac disease secondary to risk factors including side-effects of psychiatric medications. Through a 16-week exercise/education program in a social setting the HLC provides patients with healthier choices for living (various topics include diet, exercise, smoking cessation, relaxation techniques, and dental care).
Services are provided by a professionally trained and qualified multi-disciplinary team consisting of registered nurses, a family physician, a recreational therapist, a dietician and administrative support.
Patients Served by Program/Service
Patients 16 years of age or older of the North Bay Regional Health Centre and community patients registered with other mental health services are eligible to attend the clinic.

Healthy Living Clinic is restricted to those individuals with a serious mental illness who are taking psychiatric medications with known risk factors of heart disease.
